Hey, I'm Jeannie, and I'm so glad you're here!
I'm the wife of one good man and the mom of four fun boys who range in age from toddler to teenager. When I'm not taking care of my people, cheering for my boys on the sidelines of their games, trying to cook an edible meal, or begging baby Finn not to eat the dog food, I love to come here to write about and wrestle with the wild grace of God.
I love to write about God's grace because I know how much I need God's grace. I never cease to be amazed by how much motherhood not only enlarges my heart but also exposes my greatest weaknesses. So, basically, motherhood is teaching me to rely on Jesus like never before! But it hasn't always been that way.
I spent the first many years of parenting believing that I had to be a perfect example for my kids to follow and worrying that their entire futures were riding on my ability to perfectly orchestrate their lives. My goal was to make very few mistakes and have very little regret. You can probably guess how that turned out. The shame I felt from the mistakes I made was real. And because I wasn't accepting God's grace for me in all of my weaknesses and brokenness, I struggled to give grace to my kids in their weaknesses and brokenness.
Though I've been following Jesus for most of my life, it wasn't until several years ago that God opened my eyes to the depths of His grace and set me free - so very free- from the pressure to be perfect for my kids, free from performing for the love and acceptance of God, and free from pretending I have it all together with other moms.
And that is the Good News of the Gospel that I pray you will find woven into everything you encounter here. Because His grace is for each and every one of us.
And His grace changes everything.
Becoming the moms we long to be doesn't happen by trying harder to better tomorrow. It happens by more deeply believing the Gospel and allowing the grace of God to transform our own hearts first. Living in grace empowers us to parent with grace!
Friend, you were made to live fully in the freedom for which Christ has set you free! So I hope you'll stay awhile so we can discover together how to live in freedom and give grace to our children.

These days, however, you’re most likely to find Jeannie alongside her husband, Mike, with baby Finn in her arms while cheering on their three older boys at any one of their sporting events.
As for what makes her happy – well, that would be the love of Jesus, good music, a great book, worship, sand between her toes, Auburn football, putting her heart on paper, water in every form, singing like nobody’s listening, and the greatest gift God has given her, Mike and their four beautiful boys.
